Netflix's Devil May Cry anime adaptation finally has a release date: April 3rd!

The highly anticipated animated series, a collaboration between Castlevania's Adi Shankar and Studio Mir (renowned for The Legend of Korra and X-Men '97), unveiled its premiere date with a thrilling teaser on X, soundtracked by Limp Bizkit.

Initially announced in 2018, the Devil May Cry anime is confirmed to have an eight-episode first season. Studio Mir's involvement promises a visually stunning adaptation.

Plot specifics remain under wraps, but indications suggest the series will center around Dante, mirroring his portrayal in the first three Devil May Cry games rather than Devil May Cry 5. However, any direct game connections are yet to be officially confirmed. Interestingly, Johnny Yong Bosch, the voice of Nero in the video games, will lend his voice to Dante in this anime.

The most recent Devil May Cry game, Devil May Cry 5 (2019), marked a triumphant return for the franchise after a period of relative inactivity following DmC: Devil May Cry (2013). Critically acclaimed as a top-tier action title, it's highly recommended, especially for fans of games like Ninja Gaiden Black 2. Read our comprehensive Devil May Cry 5 review for a deeper dive.
