Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the game's end-of-service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months remaining to enjoy the game before the servers are permanently closed.
A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered a compelling action RPG experience with reimagined Disney and Pixar characters. Despite initial excitement, a lengthy beta period and infrequent content updates contributed to player attrition.
The game's demanding shard collection system, requiring significant time investment or in-app purchases to fully develop characters, also proved a challenge. However, the game's impressive character designs and high-quality graphics were consistently praised.
The Unexpected EOS Announcement
The abrupt announcement of Disney Mirrorverse's EOS, especially considering the recent addition of new story content and Cinderella as a playable character just a week prior, surprised many players. This isn't Kabam's first instance of suddenly ending a game's service; Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off suffered similar fates.
