It's uncommon, but sometimes a single installment in a long-running series blossoms into its own mini-franchise. This holds true for many JRPGs, like Persona 5, or the title in focus today: Final Fantasy VII. Among its many offshoots, the popular mobile RPG Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is now commemorating its second anniversary!
To celebrate, Square Enix is running a special in-game event. Interestingly, it connects to yet another spin-off—the fan-favorite CGI movie, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. From now until October 22nd, you can acquire gear and rewards themed around the film.
The most significant update is undoubtedly the arrival of Sephiroth. But this isn't the newer, more relaxed iteration. Instead, players will experience the full-powered, original Sephiroth making his debut in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis.

Cloud, Tifa, and Yuffie are also receiving a variety of new Advent Children-themed outfits, alongside some Kadaj-inspired gear for Young Sephiroth.
Available now, event rewards include a 2nd Anniversary Gear Voucher redeemable for a gear piece of your choice—with some restrictions, as crossover and limited-edition gear are excluded. You can also obtain Draw Ticket x200, Reawakened: Limit Break Medals x3, Stamina Tonic x100, Memoria of 2nd Anniversary, and other login bonuses.
What is a Memoria? It's a new equippable item for party members that provides stat boosts and unlocks a new move called an M. Ability.
