Epic Games has officially unveiled the technical enhancements and upcoming features for the new version of Fortnite designed specifically for the Nintendo Switch 2. Among the most exciting updates is the confirmation that mouse support will be added in an imminent patch, significantly enhancing gameplay precision.

As expected, this optimized version of the popular battle royale title delivers a smoother experience with a boosted frame rate of up to 60FPS. In addition, players can enjoy improved visual fidelity—offering a resolution of 2176x1224 when the Switch 2 is docked and 1600x900 when undocked.

The upgraded hardware also enables enhanced graphical capabilities, including extended draw distances for those long-range engagements, realistic clothing physics, and higher-quality textures, shadows, and water effects—bringing the game world to life like never before.

PlayIn another major improvement, replay functionality—previously unavailable on the original Switch version—will now be accessible, allowing players to review their matches and discover exactly who eliminated them. However, it's worth noting that the Save the World campaign mode will remain absent from Nintendo platforms.

Scheduled for release this Saturday, June 7, Fortnite update version 37.00 will introduce full mouse control support. By default, the mouse will replace the right analog stick, while the Joy-Con 2’s optical sensor will handle camera movement.

Mouse controls are compatible across all primary game modes, including Battle Royale, Zero Build, Team Rumble, Reload, Reload - Zero Build, Fortnite OG, and Fortnite OG Zero Build. Additionally, mouse navigation will be functional within in-game menus.
