Free Fire, Garena's popular mobile battle royale, is set to dazzle fans at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 in Riyadh with a staggering $1 million prize pool up for grabs. As part of a multi-year partnership with EWC, Free Fire enthusiasts can look forward to thrilling competitions in 2026 as well.
From July 16th to 20th, 18 of the world's top Free Fire squads will clash in a high-stakes tournament. The event kicks off with a group stage, dividing teams into three groups of six. The top twelve teams will advance to the Point-Rush stage, leading into the Grand Final, where the champion will be determined using the exciting match point format. Additionally, a $10,000 MVP bonus awaits the standout player of the tournament.
Returning to defend their title are Team Falcons, who captured the hearts of fans last year with a remarkable performance at the EWC 2024. Despite a sluggish start in the Point-Rush stage, they surged ahead with two critical Booyahs in the finals, securing the championship and a spot at the World Series in Rio.
Qualifiers for the EWC 2025 are already in full swing. The FFWS SEA will conclude on June 14th, sending eight teams to Riyadh. LATAM will qualify two teams by June 1st, Brazil will contribute four by June 22nd, and one team each will advance from Pakistan, the FF MSC, and Bangladesh. Team Falcons, as the defending champions, automatically secure their place.
