HoYoverse has officially revealed the details of the next major update for *Genshin Impact* — Version 5.7, titled "A Space and Time for You". The update is set to go live on June 18th and promises a wealth of new content, including exciting character debuts, story progression, fresh gameplay mechanics, and immersive events designed to keep players engaged.
Skirk Arrives in Genshin Impact Version 5.7!
One of the most anticipated additions in this update is Skirk, a mysterious figure with deep connections to the Abyss and widely believed to be Childe’s enigmatic mentor. Skirk brings a unique combat style featuring two distinct fighting forms. Her abilities revolve around a special mechanic known as Serpent’s Subtlety, adding a new layer of strategy to team compositions and battle dynamics.
Joining Skirk is Dahlia, a brand-new 4-star Hydro character who serves as the Deacon of the Church of Favonius. As a support-focused unit, Dahlia is expected to enhance team synergy and provide valuable utility in combat. The first half of Version 5.7 will feature Skirk, Dahlia, and a rerun for Shenhe, while the second half welcomes back Mavuika, the Pyro Archon, and Emilie.
Where’s the Story Heading?
The narrative in Version 5.7 continues directly from the conclusion of the Bedtime Story questline. The Traveler’s bond with their long-lost sibling grows stronger as tensions rise in Natlan. The Abyss Order begins making strategic moves, sparking conflict across the region. On one side, Mavuika and her forces prepare for defense, while on the other, Dainsleif reappears in a transformed state to lend aid to the Traveler on the battlefield.
Meanwhile, the Sumeru Akademiya introduces an all-new simulated adventure event that blends tactical decision-making with randomized elements. Players will form a squad of Companion Pieces and choose between two unique paths — navigating either the dense rainforest or the vast desert landscapes.
New Permanent Game Mode: Stygian Onslaught
Genshin Impact Version 5.7 also introduces a new permanent game mode called Stygian Onslaught. This mode features three rotating bosses and six escalating difficulty tiers. Players can earn exclusive rewards such as high-tier Artifacts and a brand-new item named Dust of Enlightenment, which allows players to re-roll substats on Level 20 Artifacts — offering more flexibility in artifact optimization.
Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter
Adding a touch of lighthearted storytelling, the Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter series debuts in this version. It presents a collection of slice-of-life moments unfolding across Teyvat. Characters like Thoma, Neuvillette, and Dori will each have their own mini-stories, offering fans a chance to enjoy more intimate and charming interactions beyond the heat of battle.
