Ever download an app and then promptly forget about it? Google Play Store might have the answer. A new feature is reportedly in the works that will automatically launch newly installed apps.
The Details
Android Authority reports Google Play is developing a feature to streamline app installation. This would automatically open the app immediately after download completion. No more hunting for icons! This potential addition, tentatively named "App Auto Open," is currently under development and its release date is unconfirmed. The information stems from an APK teardown of Play Store version 41.4.19.
Importantly, this feature would be entirely optional. Users can enable or disable auto-launch as needed.
How it Might Work
Upon download completion, a notification banner will appear at the top of your screen for roughly five seconds. Your phone may also vibrate or chime, ensuring you won't miss it.
