New HoYoverse Game Possibly In The Works
Honkai Nexus Anima Filed For Trademark
HoYoverse is set to expand its Honkai universe with what could be a new addition to the series. The Chinese game developer miHoYo, through its global subsidiary HoYoverse, has filed a trademark for "Honkai Nexus Anima". Although details about this new intellectual property are scarce, the name hints at it potentially being the third installment in the Honkai series, following the success of Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai Star Rail.
The trademark application for Honkai Nexus Anima was initially spotted on the Korea Intellectual Property Information Search (KIPRIS) website, which has since been removed. However, the filing remains accessible on the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) website.
The Honkai series began with Honkai Impact 3rd, a free-to-play mobile action RPG that serves as a spiritual successor to Houkai Gakuen 2, a classic 2D side-scrolling shooter. In 2023, HoYoverse released Honkai Star Rail, another free-to-play mobile game featuring turn-based gameplay.
While both games share thematic elements such as a focus on space and some character similarities, they are set in different universes and offer unique narratives. Fans speculate that Honkai Nexus Anima might follow this trend, possibly venturing into a new genre, reflecting miHoYo's history of diverse game development.
New Twitter (X) Accounts
In the wake of the trademark filing, new Twitter (X) accounts under the name Honkai Nexus Anima have surfaced. These accounts, such as "@HonkaiNA", "@HonkaiNA_RU", and "@HonkaiNA_FR", follow a pattern that suggests they are designated for different regions. This move by HoYoverse is a common strategy to secure social media handles and ensure consistent branding across various platforms.
miHoYo Recent Job Postings
Earlier this year, miHoYo released several job listings that hinted at their ongoing projects. According to GosuGamers, citing @chibi0108 on Twitter, one of the projects mentioned is an "auto-chess" game involving "Destined Spirits". Although direct access to these job listings is unavailable, and the information remains speculative, fans have connected these hints to the potential development of Honkai Nexus Anima.
While HoYoverse has not officially confirmed these speculations or announced the game, the community is buzzing with anticipation. Given miHoYo's successful track record with titles like Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, there is high expectation for their next project to be another hit.
