New Images and Details Revealed for The Lion King Ride at Disneyland Paris, Construction Begins Soon

Exciting news for Disney fans: The Lion King ride, set to debut at Disneyland Paris, has unveiled new images, detailed plans, and a construction start date slated for Fall 2025. As announced on the Disney Parks Blog, this innovative attraction will anchor the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. This first-ever land themed entirely around The Lion King promises to be a major attraction, featuring not just the thrilling water ride but also a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock. The area will also offer a range of dining options, shopping experiences, character meet-and-greets, and more.

Concept image of The Lion King ride at Disneyland Paris Disney has released a captivating concept image of the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal of grubs amidst a lush jungle scene. This is just one highlight of the ride, which also includes a dramatic 52-foot drop, making it slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure. While an exact opening date hasn't been set, The Lion King ride will follow the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026, and contribute to the expansion of Disney Adventure World, which will double the park's current size.

In addition to The Lion King and World of Frozen attractions, Disney Adventure World will introduce the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring the voice of Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel. Another unique addition will be the first-ever attraction inspired by Up, designed as a spinning carousel offering panoramic views of the park's scenic beauty.

Concept image of World Premiere at Disney Adventure World The transformation of Walt Disney Studios Park will also include the World Premiere entrance, opening on May 15, 2025, designed to evoke the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to this, the World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and London's West End, will host theaters showcasing performances such as TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
