Originally designed for industrial transport, these steamboats evolved into pleasure crafts as technology advanced, offering amenities and entertainment like gambling and jazz music. This transformation is echoed in the modern riverboat cruises, such as the one my wife and I enjoyed during our honeymoon in New Orleans, featuring dining, dancing, and live jazz performances.

This set is a true delight for LEGO enthusiasts. It features a detailed jazz lounge and dining room, alongside practical areas such as a boiler engine room that connects to the paddle wheel. When you push the boat, the wheel rotates, adding a dynamic element to the model. The pilothouse includes a functional steering wheel that, when turned, operates the rudder at the boat's base. Additionally, the set includes a kitchen, sleeping quarters for the crew, an anchor on a chain, and adjustable boarding stages.
