As the release date for Edge of Eternities approaches, card spoilers have yet to be revealed, but there's still plenty to get excited about. Here’s a comprehensive look at what we know so far about Magic: The Gathering: Edge of Eternities.

What is MTG Edge of Eternities?

This year, Wizards of the Coast is doubling down on its 'Universes Beyond' sets, starting with Final Fantasy, followed by Spider-Man, and concluding with Avatar: The Last Airbender. While 'Universes Beyond' sets draw from external franchises, Edge of Eternities takes a different approach by focusing on a cosmic theme within Magic's own universe. Positioned between Final Fantasy and Spider-Man, this set introduces the final chapter of the Metronome storyline, which kicked off with Wilds of Eldraine.

Play Boosters have become the go-to format for opening packs, replacing the older Set and Draft Boosters. Each pack contains 15 cards suitable for draft and sealed play. The first six cards are common, followed by another common that might be a reprint. Cards 8 through 10 are uncommons, and card 11 is your rare or mythic rare. A land card, potentially foil or full art, occupies the 12th slot, while card 13 is a wildcard that could be any card from the set. Finally, card 14 guarantees a foil wildcard, increasing your chances of pulling sought-after cards. You can purchase these boosters individually or in a box.

Collector Boosters

Each pack contains 16 cards, including five rare or mythic rares, four uncommons, five commons, and one land. Many cards feature enhanced frame designs, and 12 to 13 of them are foils. These can be bought individually or in a box, though they come at a premium cost.

The number of Commander decks per set has varied this year, from two in Aetherdrift to five in Tarkir: Dragonstorm, and four in Final Fantasy. Edge of Eternities features two decks: World Shaper and Counter Intelligence. World Shaper, in Black, Red, and Green (Jund), revolves around sacrificing lands to grow back stronger. Counter Intelligence, in Blue, Red, and White (Jeskai), focuses on boosting artifacts and proliferating counters.
