Let's jump right in this month, making up for last month's slightly delayed guide. A fresh month and season are here, and I'm ready to share deck-building strategies to keep you competitive in Marvel Snap (Free). Honestly, the game felt pretty balanced last month. But a new season brings new cards, so expect the meta to shift dramatically. Let's predict the upcoming trends! Remember: today's winning deck might be obsolete tomorrow. These guides offer insights, but they're not the only strategy you should employ.
Most of these decks represent the current top-tier options, assuming you have a complete card collection. I'll showcase five top-performing Marvel Snap decks, plus a couple of more accessible and fun alternatives for variety.
The Young Avengers cards haven't made a huge impact, except for Kate Bishop (as usual) and Marvel Boy (beneficial for 1-Cost Kazoo decks). The rest haven't significantly altered the meta. However, the new Amazing Spider-Season and the Activate ability are game-changers. Next month's meta will be vastly different.
Kazar and Gilgamesh Deck
Cards Included: Ant-Man, Nebula, Squirrel Girl, Dazzler, Kate Bishop, Marvel Boy, Caeira, Shanna, Kazar, Blue Marvel, Gilgamesh, Mockingbird
Surprisingly, Kazoo is a top deck thanks to the Young Avengers. The core strategy remains familiar: deploy low-cost cards and buff them with Kazar and Blue Marvel. Marvel Boy provides additional buffs, and Gilgamesh greatly benefits from these enhancements. Kate Bishop helps fill spots for Dazzler and reduces the cost of Mockingbird. A strong performer, but its longevity remains to be seen.
Silver Surfer Remains Unstoppable, Part II
Cards Included: Nova, Forge, Cassandra Nova, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Hope Summers, Nocturne, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Absorbing Man, Gwenpool
Silver Surfer continues his dominance, with minor adjustments for balance changes and new cards. The classic Nova/Killmonger combo boosts cards. Forge enhances Brood's clones. Gwenpool buffs cards in hand, Shaw strengthens with buffs, Hope provides extra energy, Cassandra Nova steals power, and Surfer/Absorbing Man secure victory. Copycat replaces Red Guardian as a versatile tool.
Spectrum and Man-Thing Ongoing Deck
Cards Included: Wasp, Ant-Man, Howard the Duck, Armor, US Agent, Lizard, Captain America, Cosmo, Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Man-Thing, Spectrum
The Ongoing archetype also thrives. These cards with Ongoing abilities receive a final-turn boost from Spectrum. The Luke Cage/Man-Thing combo is powerful, and Luke protects cards from US Agent. This deck is easy to play, and Cosmo's utility is likely to increase.
Discard Dracula Deck
Cards Included: Blade, Morbius, The Collector, Swarm, Colleen Wing, Moon Knight, Corvus Glaive, Lady Sif, Dracula, Proxima Midnight, MODOK, Apocalypse
A classic Apocalypse-style Discard deck, with Moon Knight (buffed) replacing a standard card. Morbius and Dracula are key cards; ideally, you'll end the final round with only Apocalypse, which Dracula consumes for a powerful boost. Morbius benefits from discarding, and Collector can be surprisingly effective.
Destroy Deck
Cards Included: Deadpool, Niko Minoru, X-23, Carnage, Wolverine, Killmonger, Deathlok, Attuma, Nimrod, Knull, Death
The Destroy deck remains largely unchanged, with Attuma's recent buff making him a valuable addition. Destroy Deadpool and Wolverine, gain extra energy with X-23, and utilize Nimrod or Knull for a powerful finish. Arnim Zola's absence is due to increasingly common counter-measures.
Here are a couple of fun decks for those with smaller collections or seeking variety:
Darkhawk's Return
Cards Included: The Hood, Spider-Ham, Korg, Niko Minoru, Cassandra Nova, Moon Knight, Rockslide, Viper, Proxima Midnight, Darkhawk, Blackbolt, Stature
This deck utilizes Darkhawk's strengths, combining him with Korg and Rockslide to add cards to your opponent's deck. Spider-Ham and Cassandra Nova offer strategic advantages, and other cards encourage discarding and reduce Stature's cost.
Budget Kazar Deck
Cards Included: Ant-Man, Elektra, Ice Man, Nightcrawler, Armor, Mister Fantastic, Cosmo, Kazar, Namor, Blue Marvel, Klaw, Onslaught
A beginner-friendly Kazar deck. While less reliable than the top-tier version, it teaches the combo mechanics. It features the Kazar/Blue Marvel synergy, enhanced by Onslaught.
This month's deck guide concludes. With the new season and potential balance changes, October's meta will likely be very different. The Activate ability and Symbiote Spider-Man are significant factors. It's fascinating to see classic decks return to prominence, but this is unlikely to last. Until next time… happy snapping!
