As the much-anticipated release date of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on August 28 draws near, Konami has unveiled the stealth game's opening movie. This cinematic introduction will feel instantly familiar to fans of the original, capturing the essence of the game from the very first frame where newspapers appear on screen, accompanied by the iconic James Bond-esque title song, beautifully reprised by Cynthia Harrell.

The opening video offers tantalizing glimpses of in-game moments, though devoid of full context. Highlights include Snake's dramatic backward leap off a waterfall, reminiscent of an Olympic diver, and the memorable scene of Snake the Snake Eater consuming a snake, reinforcing the game's unique identity.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of Konami's acclaimed 2004 action espionage game, originally titled without the "Delta." In addition to the main game, Konami confirmed the return of the beloved Snake vs. Monkey minigame. The remake will also retain the suggestive and sexual content from Metal Gear Solid 3, including the Peep Demo Theatre, as indicated by recent age ratings.

In our Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater preview, IGN described the game as "more like a very shiny HD remaster than the elegant remake it could have been," highlighting the inclusion of a new first-person perspective for Snake. While the game is an "admittedly beautiful nostalgia trip," it remains almost faithful to a fault. The original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater earned an impressive score of 9.6 from IGN, setting a high bar for this anticipated remake.
