Serial Cleaner, the crime-scene cleanup puzzler, is making a comeback! Originally released in 2019, this title is returning to mobile platforms. Will it be a refined re-release, or simply an updated port? Only time will tell.
The game transports you to the gritty, yet cartoonish, 1970s. As Bob Leaner, your job is to discreetly remove bodies, blood, and other incriminating evidence from mob crime scenes, all while avoiding the watchful eyes of patrolling police officers.
Our previous 2019 review described the original Serial Cleaner as promising but unfinished. Developer Plug-in Digital is now self-publishing this mobile version, suggesting a chance to rectify past shortcomings.
A Retro Revival?
Available for pre-registration now, with a February 11th, 2025 release date, the extent of the improvements remains unclear. While a polished update would be welcome, given the time elapsed since the initial launch, significant changes might be unrealistic.
The core concept of Serial Cleaner remains captivating, but a simple mobile re-release dampens expectations somewhat. However, for Android users who missed out, or iOS players experiencing compatibility issues, this could be a pleasant surprise.
