Reliable sources suggest Nintendo will finally unveil the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 on Thursday, January 16th, 2025. This aligns with previous reports indicating mass production began in late September/early October 2024, and Nintendo's self-imposed deadline of March 31st, 2025, for an official announcement. The timing also mirrors the original Switch reveal, which also occurred on a Thursday in 2016. This early 2025 reveal strongly hints at a first-half 2025 release.

NateTheHate, a reputable leaker, broke the news on his January 13th podcast, citing unnamed sources. This was subsequently corroborated by Tom Warren of The Verge. The extensive leaks surrounding the Switch 2 over the past months – including Nintendo's own acknowledgment of a replica – make this announcement less surprising.

Switch 2 Leaks: A Recap

While the official reveal is imminent, much of the Switch 2's specifications have already surfaced. Rumors point to a slightly larger device than the Switch OLED model (approximately 270 x 116 x 14mm) featuring an 8-inch LCD screen.
