Get ready to power up faster with the new Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. As highlighted by Nintendo Life, Nintendo has recently shared the tech specs for their latest $84.99 Switch 2 Pro Controller, revealing it takes about three-and-a-half hours to charge fully. This is a significant improvement, nearly halving the six-hour charge time of the original Pro Controller, when using the Nintendo Switch 2 AC adapter or the USB-C charging cable.
The best part? This quicker charge time doesn't compromise the impressive 40-hour battery life of the Pro Controller. The Switch 2 Pro Controller maintains the same endurance between charges as its predecessor. Additionally, it introduces the new C button and two extra GL/GR buttons on the underside, making it slightly lighter and smaller than the original model.

If you're still attached to your OG controller, there's good news: Nintendo has confirmed that the original controller will be compatible with the new console system.
Nintendo officially introduced the Switch 2 during a 60-minute Nintendo Direct earlier this month. Initially, pre-orders were scheduled to open in early April in the U.S., but due to tariff-related uncertainties, Nintendo decided to delay the pre-order date to April 24. During this delay, Nintendo announced that they would maintain the $449.99 price for the Switch 2 console and its games, though they raised prices on most Switch 2 accessories, including bumping the Switch 2 Pro Controller from $80 to $85.
