Path of Exile 2: Ritual Guide – Passives, Tributes, And Favours

Path of Exile 2's Endgame Rituals: A Comprehensive Guide

Path of Exile 2 introduces several endgame events, including Breaches, Expeditions, Delirium, and Rituals. This guide focuses on Rituals, a revamped mechanic from previous PoE leagues. We'll cover initiating Ritual events, understanding their mechanics, utilizing the Ritual Passive Skill Tree, defeating the Pinnacle boss (King in the Mists), and maximizing rewards from the Tribute and Favour system.

Identifying and Initiating Ritual Events

On the Atlas, Ritual Altar map nodes are marked with a distinctive red pentagram icon. To guarantee a Ritual encounter, use a Ritual Precursor Tablet in a completed Lost Tower.

Once in a Ritual map, several Altars will appear. Each map features a shared random modifier affecting enemy types or mechanics (e.g., massive rat waves, life-draining blood pools).

Interact with an Altar after noting its modifiers. A large enemy wave will spawn within a defined circle; remaining within this zone is crucial for completion. Leaving the circle prematurely ends the event and forfeits rewards. A map is considered complete once all Rituals are successfully finished.

Confronting the King in the Mists: The Ritual Pinnacle Boss

The "An Audience With The King" currency item, obtained through Favours, unlocks the Crux of Nothingness and the King in the Mists boss fight. This boss shares mechanics with the Act 1 Cruel version found in Freythorn (useful for practice).

Defeating the King in the Mists rewards 2 Ritual Passive Skill points, a chance at unique PoE 2 items, powerful currencies, and Omen items.

Mastering the Ritual Passive Skill Tree

The Ritual Passive Skill Tree (accessible via the Atlas Passive Skill Tree screen's bottom right) enhances Ritual events. Nodes reduce Tribute requirements, improve rewards, and boost unique currency drop chances. The tree features eight Notable nodes and eight nodes increasing King in the Mists difficulty. Each Notable node requires defeating the Pinnacle boss at an increased difficulty.

Notable Node Prioritization:

Prioritize "From The Mists," "Spreading Darkness," and "Ominous Portents" initially for increased rewards with minimal drawbacks. Subsequently, focus on "Tempting Offers" and "He Approaches" for better Omen and "An Audience With The King" chances.

Understanding Tribute, Favours, and Omens: The Reward System

Completed Rituals grant Tribute, a temporary currency used to purchase randomized items (Favours). More Altars completed increase Tribute and unlock higher-tier Favours, including Rare gear and high-value currencies. "An Audience With The King" is exclusively a Favour reward.

Omens are exceptionally powerful items that modify other Currency items. They're highly sought after for crafting and can be traded for significant value.

All PoE 2 Omen Currencies:

  • Omen of Sinistral Alchemy
  • Omen of Dextral Alchemy
  • Omen of Sinistral Coronation
