Pokemon GO trainers can encounter Dynamax versions of the legendary bird trio from January 20 to February 3. Discover which Pokemon and rewards will be available during this special event!
Dynamax Legendary Birds Arrive in Three-Week Event
Featuring the Iconic Trio: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres
The powerful Dynamax forms of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres will appear in Pokemon GO from January 20 through February 3.
Trainers can battle these gigantic legendary birds in five-star Max Raids at gym locations. Each legendary will appear on successive Mondays during the event period:
- Dynamax Articuno: January 20
- Dynamax Zapdos: January 27
- Dynamax Moltres: February 3
Following their initial appearances, each legendary bird will remain available for an entire week. The event also features special "Legendary Flight Timed Research" with opportunities to:
- Capture featured Pokemon with increased Shiny odds
- Earn Candy and Max Particles for powering up Pokemon
The Timed Research schedule (local time):
- Articuno: January 17 (10:00 am) - January 20 (7:00 pm) - Features Charmander, Beldum, Scorbunny
- Zapdos: January 24 (10:00 am) - January 27 (7:00 pm) - Features Drilbur, Cryogonal, Grookey
- Moltres: January 31 (10:00 am) - February 3 (7:00 pm) - Features Squirtle, Krabby, Sobble
Victini Returns for GO Tour: Unova Event
Niantic has announced updated details for the global Pokemon GO Tour: Unova event. While the in-person event has limited attendance, all players can:
- Receive a free Tour Pass starting February 24, 2025 (10:00 am local time)
- Earn Tour Points and rank up for additional rewards through March 2 (6:00 pm local time)
- Upgrade to Tour Pass Deluxe for premium benefits
The Tour Pass Deluxe upgrade includes:
- Immediate encounter with Mythical Pokemon Victini
- Lucky Trinket (grants temporary Lucky Friends status)
- Faster progression through event content
