Niantic has revealed a new Tour Pass launching February 24 for Pokémon GO's upcoming Unova celebration. This latest addition to the annual Pokémon GO Tour will feature Generation 5 Pokémon encounters, raids, and eggs throughout the event period.
The Pokémon GO Tour is a yearly celebration coinciding with Pokémon Day, each edition highlighting a different region. The inaugural 2021 event focused on Kanto, introducing nine new shinies including the elusive Mew and Ditto. Last year's Sinnoh-themed tour debuted special Pikachu variants and the Origin Formes of Dialga and Palkia.
Running from February 24 at 10 AM to March 2 at 6 PM local time, the new Tour Pass offers progression through completing daily challenges, catching Pokémon, raiding, and hatching eggs. As trainers accumulate Tour Points, they'll unlock Minor and Major milestones containing candy, stickers, and other bonuses. The ultimate reward features an exclusive Zorua encounter with a unique background. All rewards must be claimed before they expire on March 9 at 6 PM.
Premium Pass Options
While all players receive a free Tour Pass, Pokémon GO will offer a Deluxe version for $14.99 through the web store during the event period. This premium pass combines free and paid track rewards, a Victini encounter, and the innovative Lucky Trinket - a one-time item that instantly creates a Lucky Friend connection. For $19.99, players can purchase an enhanced Deluxe Pass with 10 pre-unlocked ranks. All premium rewards share the same March 9 expiration deadline as the free pass.
This Tour Pass announcement builds anticipation for Unova's big event, which marks the debut of both Black and White Kyurem forms through fusion mechanics, following last year's Necrozma introduction. The occasion also brings shiny Meloetta's first appearance via Masterwork Research tickets, promising another memorable celebration for trainers worldwide.
