Respawn Scraps Unannounced Titanfall Multiplayer Game

A former Respawn Entertainment employee revealed on their LinkedIn profile that an unannounced project has been cancelled this week after years in development. No official reason for the cancellation has been given.

Last year, journalist Jeff Grubb reported the project wasn't a mainline Titanfall entry, ruling out Titanfall 3. Respawn assembled a dedicated "experimental team" of multiplayer shooter specialists for its development.

This isn't the first Respawn project to be cancelled. An arcade shooter codenamed Titanfall Legends was shut down last year.

The Titanfall series is celebrated for its unique blend of fast-paced action and mech combat, allowing players to battle as agile pilots or powerful Titans. Since its 2014 debut, the franchise has garnered a significant following thanks to its innovative gameplay combining parkour and dynamic team battles.

Respawn is currently concentrating on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and a new, unannounced Star Wars strategy game developed in collaboration with Bit Reactor.
