This monumental achievement surpasses all previous movie trailer launches, including the impressive 365 million views for Deadpool & Wolverine and 200 million for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Even last year's Superman trailer, which garnered over 250 million views and set a record for DC and Warner Bros., pales in comparison to the overwhelming success of GTA 6 Trailer 2.
It's interesting to note that the first trailer for GTA 6 achieved 93 million views on its debut day, exclusively on YouTube, making it the platform's biggest non-music video launch ever. As of the publication of this article on May 8, GTA 6 Trailer 2 has already reached 85,276,196 views on Rockstar's official YouTube channel alone.
IGN has highlighted the significant impact of GTA 6 Trailer 2 on music, with The Pointer Sisters' track Hot Together experiencing a phenomenal 182,000% increase in Spotify streams within just two hours of the trailer's release. Spotify's Global Head of Editorial, Sulinna Ong, remarked, "Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else. Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way."
The release of GTA 6 Trailer 2 comes after the game's delay from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. With expectations soaring, GTA 6 is poised to become the biggest entertainment launch ever, potentially breaking revenue records across both video games and movies.
