Ryan Reynolds Eyes Deadpool-X-Men Film: Early Stages Reported

Authore: JonathanUpdate:May 04,2025

Ryan Reynolds is reportedly in the early stages of developing a new film that would bring Deadpool together with the X-Men, though not in the way fans might expect. According to THR, Reynolds envisions an ensemble movie where Deadpool shares the spotlight with three or four other X-Men characters. In this project, Reynolds aims for these other characters to take center stage and be "used in unexpected ways," rather than having Deadpool as the main focus.

This potential film is separate from another X-Men project being written by Michael Lesslie, known for his work on the Hunger Games. Reynolds, who has a history of developing ideas independently before pitching them to Marvel, is following a similar creative process as he did with Deadpool & Wolverine. Initially, Deadpool & Wolverine was conceived as a low-budget road trip movie, showcasing Reynolds' unique approach to storytelling.

While the specific X-Men characters that might join Deadpool in this new venture remain undisclosed, Deadpool has a rich history of collaborating with various members of the X-Men in previous films. Characters such as Wolverine, Colossus, Sabertooth, Pyro, and even Channing Tatum's Gambit have all crossed paths with the Merc With a Mouth on screen.
