New Pokémon to Befriend in Pokémon Sleep: Sneasel and Weavile!
Pokémon Sleep players are in for a treat! As of December 3rd, 2024, Sneasel and Weavile have joined the roster of befriendable Pokémon. This guide will explain how to add these icy, dark-type Pokémon to your team.
Where to Find Sneasel and Weavile
Given their dual Ice/Dark typing in the main series, you might expect Sneasel and Weavile to be found in colder climates. In Pokémon Sleep, however, they're classified as Dark-type and appear in two locations:
- Snowdrop Tundra: Their primary habitat, reflecting their icy nature.
- Greengrass Isle: Surprisingly, they also appear on the starter island, making them accessible to all players regardless of game progress.
If your current research island isn't one of these, use an EZ Travel Ticket to change locations.
Sleep Types and Evolution
Both Sneasel and Weavile share the "Dozing" sleep type. Increasing your chances of encountering them requires setting your sleep type to Dozing.
Sneasel is easier to find initially. Evolving it into Weavile requires 80 Sneasel Candy and a Razor Claw. Note: you'll still need to encounter Weavile in the wild for Sleep Research data.
Sneasel and Weavile's Value
Sneasel's primary contribution is Wiki Berry gathering, particularly beneficial on Snowdrop Tundra. It also provides an "Extra Tasty" bonus to your dishes. Its ingredient requirements include sought-after items, making a well-provisioned Sneasel a valuable asset.
