While the global release of Sonic Rumble is still on the horizon, set for May 8th, the excitement is already building with a pre-release crossover event that's set to dazzle fans. This isn't just any crossover; it's a celebration of Sega's iconic characters from past and present, joining the fray in Sonic Rumble.
Interestingly, this crossover event will kick off before the worldwide launch, available to those fortunate enough to be in the regions where the game is currently in soft launch. From today until May 7th, players can claim the Werewolf character from the classic game Altered Beast completely free of charge.
For those subscribed to the Sega Star Event Pass, the rewards are even more enticing. You'll have access to the Weredragon, another character from Altered Beast, along with Opa-Opa, the beloved mascot from the arcade hit Fantasy Zone.
But wait, there's more! Additional characters will be up for grabs in the in-game Ring Shop, including Upa-Upa and the Werebear. Meanwhile, the Red Star Ring Shop will feature characters from Super Monkey Ball, such as AiAi and MeeMee.
It's quite unusual to see such a significant event before the official release, but those lucky enough to access the soft launch will surely be eager to get their hands on these iconic characters. And according to Sega, this is just the beginning. They have promised a packed calendar filled with exciting crossovers and collaborations for Sonic Rumble.
