Romancing SaGa Re:universe Global Server Closure Announced
The global version of Romancing SaGa Re:universe will officially cease operations on December 2nd, 2024. While this may come as a surprise to some, the Japanese version will continue running.
Two Months Remaining
With the shutdown date approaching, in-app purchases of jewels and Google Play Points exchanges have already been discontinued following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance. Players have approximately two months of gameplay remaining.
A Four-Year Journey
Launched globally in June 2020, the game enjoyed a four-year run marked by both successes and challenges. Despite its impressive visuals, soundtrack, and generous gacha system, the global version received mixed player reception. Unlike its popular Japanese counterpart, the global version lacked significant content updates such as Solistia and 6-star unit upgrades, a year-long absence that contributed to player attrition.
Community Feedback
Square Enix, the developer, has already closed several mobile titles this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games, adding to the closure of Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global service.
A Final Opportunity
Romancing SaGa Re:universe, a turn-based RPG rooted in the classic SaGa series, offers players two final months to enjoy its gameplay. Those interested can download the game from the Google Play Store. For more gaming news, check out our article on Legend of Kingdoms.
