Sequel Trilogy star Oscar Isaac's confirmed appearance at Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo (April 18-20) has ignited fervent speculation about a potential return of his character, Poe Dameron. The announcement, made via the official Star Wars Celebration Instagram, follows Daisy Ridley's 2023 Celebration appearance and subsequent confirmation for a new Star Wars film. This has led many fans to wonder if Isaac will make a similar announcement.

While the Sequel Trilogy concluded in 2019 with The Rise of Skywalker, Isaac's stance on returning to the franchise has evolved. Initially expressing reluctance (in 2020, stating a return would only happen if he "needed another house"), he later adopted a more open attitude (telling Variety in 2022 he was "open to anything").

Isaac's past criticisms of Disney, particularly their rejection of his proposed romance between Poe and Finn (played by John Boyega), have also resurfaced. Boyega himself has previously voiced negative feelings towards Disney and the franchise but has also indicated openness to future roles.
