If you've recently ventured into a cinema to catch *A Minecraft Movie*, you likely recall Jack Black's brief yet memorable song celebrating the "lava chicken" moment around the film's midpoint. Playing the iconic character Steve, Black delivers a tune titled "Lava Chicken" as Jason Momoa and others watch a chicken meet its fiery fate from falling lava. Clocking in at just 34 seconds, the song has swiftly gone viral across social media platforms.

Remarkably, "Lava Chicken" has debuted at No. 21 on the UK's official chart, marking it as the shortest song ever to achieve such a feat. The UK's digital entertainment and retail association, ERA, commented that "Streaming + virality are reshaping hits," highlighting the evolving landscape of music consumption.

Jack Black is no newcomer to the realm of viral video game songs. His 95-second romantic ballad "Peaches," sung and co-written for *The Super Mario Bros. Movie*, not only became a sensation but also landed on the Billboard Hot 100. This achievement marked Black's first solo entry onto the chart, following his earlier success with Tenacious D's "The Pick of Destiny," which reached No. 78 in 2006.

Other brief tracks to have made chart history include the 64-second "Spider Pig" from the 2007 *Simpsons Movie* and Liam Lynch’s 86-second punk anthem "United States of Whatever" from 2002.

Beyond "Lava Chicken," *A Minecraft Movie* has generated significant buzz. Clips of enthusiastic cinemagoers, some even bringing live chickens to screenings, have spread like wildfire on platforms like TikTok. Additionally, the film's production team had their own private Minecraft server for collaborative play. The movie has soared past $700 million at the global box office, positioning it to become the highest-grossing video game movie to date.
