With August behind us and the Young Avengers season concluded, it's time for a new chapter in Marvel Snap (Free). Starting today, the latest season has arrived! What's the theme, you ask? It's a classic Marvel favorite: the spectacular Spider-Season! BONESAW IS READY! Well, not exactly—Bonesaw isn't part of this update, but maybe someday. Still, there are exciting new cards and locations to explore. Let’s dive in!

This season stands out by introducing a fresh card mechanic: Activate. With Activate, you decide when to trigger a card’s ability. Think of it as an On Reveal effect you can use at any moment, while also bypassing counters that target On Reveal. The Season Pass card naturally showcases this feature, and it’s already shaping up to be a game-changer. To hear directly from Second Dinner about the season, check out the video below. Keep reading for my overview.
Symbiote Spider-Man is the new Season Pass card. He costs 4 Energy and has 6 Power, with an Activate ability that absorbs the lowest-cost card at his location and copies its text. If that card has an On Reveal ability, it triggers again as if played anew. Pair him with Galactus for some serious shenanigans. I’d be shocked if this card makes it through the season without a nerf, but he’s already a blast to use.
Next up, Silver Sable. She’s a 1-Cost, 1-Power card with an On Reveal ability that steals 2 Power from the top card of your opponent’s deck. Solid on her own, she becomes especially powerful when combined with specific locations or other cards. Then we have Madame Web, the breakout star from the recent film. Her Ongoing ability lets you move one other card at her location to another spot once per turn.

Next, Arana. Another 1-Cost, 1-Power card, she introduces another Activate ability. Use it to move the next card you play to the right and boost its Power by +2. She’s sure to become a key piece in move-focused decks. Rounding out the Spider-themed additions is Scarlet Spider (the Ben Reilly version). He costs 4 Energy, has 5 Power, and yes—he also has an Activate ability! Activate him to create an identical clone at another location. Power him up, then multiply his presence! Clones are expendable, after all.
Two new locations join the fray. Brooklyn Bridge, a iconic spot in Spider-Man’s history, makes its Marvel Snap debut. The twist? You can’t play cards here two turns in a row. Securing control will require some clever strategy. The other location, Otto’s Lab, works just like Doctor Octopus himself: the next card you play there pulls a random card from your opponent’s hand to the location. Expect the unexpected! THE DIE IS CAST!

That covers everything new this season! With intriguing cards and the versatile Activate mechanic, September promises plenty of strategic depth. Our monthly deck guide will be up shortly to help you tackle this web-slinging crew. What are your thoughts on this season? Any cards you’re excited to try? Planning to grab the Season Pass?
