"Switch 2 Pre-Order Invites Dates Set for U.S., Canada"

Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 were originally scheduled to launch globally on April 9. However, due to economic turbulence triggered by Trump's tariffs, Nintendo had to postpone the pre-order start date in the U.S., followed by a delay in Canada. Meanwhile, pre-orders proceeded as planned in other regions, including the UK.

According to the FAQ on Nintendo's website, the initial invitations for pre-orders will begin rolling out on May 8, 2025, exclusively through the My Nintendo Store. Details on retail pre-orders are yet to be announced.

Nintendo has confirmed that additional batches of invitation emails will be sent out "periodically" until the purchasing option on the My Nintendo Store becomes available to all customers.

The first wave of invitation emails will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to those "eligible registrants who meet the priority criteria," as explained by Nintendo. Recipients of these invitations will have 72 hours from the time of email dispatch to complete their purchase.
