2025 is here, and it's time for IGN's refreshed list of the 25 best modern PC games. This isn't an objective ranking; subjectivity is inherent in gaming preferences. This list represents a collective recommendation from IGN's PC gaming team, using our Face-Off tool to aggregate opinions. It's a celebration of games we love, encouraging you to explore them if you haven't.

Many excellent recent PC games didn't make the cut – a testament to the sheer volume of great titles and diverse tastes. Our criteria focuses on "modern" games (released or significantly updated since 2013). Classic titles like Doom, Half-Life 2, and Skyrim are considered all-time greats, not "modern."
