Thorncrown Rises Tower Locations

Three towers require exploration to complete the Shadow of the Past quest, broken into three sub-quests:

• Shadow of the Towers: Resounding Rise: Located northeast of Thorncrown Rises.
• Shadow of the Towers: Twilight Rise: Located south of Thorncrown Rises.
• Shadow of the Towers: Command Rise: Located southwest of Thorncrown Rises.

Resounding Rise

Locate Itzel east of the Resounding Rise Tower to begin. The tower's challenges involve navigating hallways, defeating Abyssal Mercators, and solving a painting puzzle. Specific steps include:

• Interact with paintings to progress through the tower.
• Defeat multiple Abyssal Mercators.
• Collect Supply chests throughout the tower.
• Solve the painting puzzle by rearranging paintings in specific locations on the display stands. (Top left to bottom right, painting behind top left to bottom left, top right to top left, painting behind bottom right to top right).
• Defeat a final Abyssal Mercator.
• Claim the Premium and Tidal Supply chests.

Completing this sub-quest weakens one of the Command Rise Tower barriers.

Twilight Rise

Speak to Insula southeast of the Twilight Rise Tower to enter. The quest involves investigating clues, discovering a secret passage, and defeating an Abyssal Patricius. Steps include:

• Investigate marked locations for clues.
• Interact with Insula.
• Enter the secret passage.
• Defeat the Abyssal Patricius.
• Collect Supply chests and follow the Patricius's trail.
• Defeat the Patricius a second time.
• Interact with Insula.
• Claim the Tidal Supply chest.

This completes the Twilight Rise sub-quest and weakens the second Command Rise Tower barrier.

Command Rise

The final sub-quest activates automatically after completing the first two. This involves:

• Speaking with Insula and Itzel northeast of the tower.
• Using the Wingray to reach the tower.
• Exploring the tower, using the grapple to reach higher levels.
• Collecting numerous Supply chests.
• Locating and opening two Sonance Caskets: Ragunna.
• Utilizing the chandelier mechanism to reach the top.
• Defeating the final Abyssal Patricius.
• Claiming the Call of the Abyss Rectifier and a Premium Supply chest.

Upon completion, you'll receive the King of Thessaleo and Shadow of the Tower achievements.
