Xbox Games Series Tier List

Authore: AudreyUpdate:Feb 28,2025

Microsoft's Xbox Developer Direct has generated significant buzz for the company's first-party studios in 2025. But which Xbox game franchises truly excite you the most? Which ones provided the greatest enjoyment during the Xbox 360 era? Or, if you're new to Xbox, which upcoming titles are you most anticipating on platforms like PlayStation, given Microsoft's apparent commitment to broader game availability?

There's a wealth of legendary franchises to consider, particularly following Microsoft's acquisitions of Bethesda and Activision Blizzard. This tier list encompasses any series associated with Xbox, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard, provided they have multiple entries – apologies to MachineGames and Indiana Jones! A sequel would certainly change that. Remember, this isn't an exhaustive list of every Xbox game series, but it aims to represent current relevance and historical impact.

Below is a personal tier list based on years of gaming experience:

Simon Cardy's Xbox Games Series Tier List

Doom easily earns an S-tier ranking for me. The recent entries are among my favorite first-person shooters, and Doom: The Dark Ages suggests id Software is maintaining its high standards. Forza Horizon also secures an S-tier spot; arguably, outside of Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge, they're the best racing games I've ever played. Placing Halo in A-tier might be controversial. While Halo 2 and 3 boast exceptional campaigns, I can't overlook recent inconsistencies. I also personally prefer Fallout to Elder Scrolls. Power armor over dragons, any day!

Disagree? Believe Gears of War reigns supreme? A staunch defender of Fuzion Frenzy? Feel free to create your own tier list and compare your rankings (S, A, B, C, and D tiers) with the IGN community.
