Yama, New Boss in Old School RuneScape, Emerges in Great Kourend

Old School RuneScape's latest update plunges players back into the political turmoil and infernal depths of Great Kourend, where an ancient and enraged entity has finally awakened. The new boss, Yama, the Master of Pacts, is now available, a fearsome minotaur demon who has been amassing power in the Chasm of Fire, biding his time to unleash chaos.

If you've completed the A Kingdom Divided quest (and finished with Royal Titans), this update continues the saga directly. After confronting Yama's Judge in 2021, it was clear that the true menace was yet to be faced - a creature with wings, horns, hooves, and a formidable two-handed axe. Yama is accompanied by the Disciples of Yama, a cult of fire-worshippers devoted to their fiery leader.

This battle is tailored for high-level players. You'll need to have completed the quest, possess top-tier combat stats, and equip the best gear to have a fighting chance. The encounter can be tackled solo or with a team. Defeating Yama grants access to new rewards, including Demon Tallow for crafting Surge Potions, the Chasm of Fire Teleport Scroll, valuable Grimoire Pages, and other hidden treasures.

The Chasm of Fire has also been expanded to include a dedicated area for mining and smithing. Here, you can harvest Crimson Lovakite, a unique resource found only in this scorching abyss.
