New details about the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows have surfaced online following a purported leak of an artbook, unexpectedly found on a hentai website, among other locations.
The discovery, highlighted on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, involves an artbook titled "The Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows," rapidly spreading across the internet. This artbook reportedly contains hundreds of pages showcasing concept art, quotes from developers, and development information related to the next Assassin's Creed installment.
While the leak itself is noteworthy, the Reddit post claims its origin was a site known for hosting adult content. This unusual source has prompted Ubisoft to be contacted by IGN for comment.
The original gallery has been removed from the source site, but archived copies are circulating on various file-sharing platforms and image boards.

The leaked artbook features concepts for renowned historical figures, major cities, and a variety of weaponry. The artwork also seemingly reveals potential plot spoilers for Assassin's Creed Shadows. However, verification awaits the game's official release.
This leak comes just before Assassin's Creed Shadows' anticipated launch on March 20, 2025, following a postponement from its initial 2024 release window to February.
At a recent preview event, IGN interviewed Assassin's Creed Shadows game director Charles Benoit. He confirmed the one-month delay was primarily focused on refinement, without altering core game mechanics. Minor adjustments were made to enhance progression and balance, with the parkour system receiving the most significant attention. The unique challenges presented by Feudal Japan's architecture proved particularly demanding.
"The Japanese architecture, the roofs [are] super complex," Benoit explained. "Probably the most complex thing that I ever worked with if we compared to Odyssey and Syndicate. We needed specific codes and specific animations to support something super fluid, changing the transition of the parkour to make it even more fluid. So that's one of the specific feedback that we heard that we wanted to address, and it really improved since the last few months."
