Best Shovel and Detector Combo in Desert Detectors

The undisputed champions of Desert Detectors are the Pharoh Shovel and Pharoh Detector. Their superior stats are complemented by incredibly valuable passive abilities, especially the detector's. Find them both at the Pyramids. From your starting location, simply follow the compass north-west.

Getting Cursed Treasures With Pharoh Detector

The Pharoh Detector unlocks access to Cursed Treasures, though finding them isn't guaranteed. The 5% chance means persistence is key. Cursed Treasures sell for far more than regular finds—a regular chest might fetch 500 Sheckles, while a Cursed Chest can be worth 12,500. Aim for Rainbow Spots for the most valuable treasures.
How to Farm Sheckles for Pharoh Detector and Shovel

The Pharoh Detector and Shovel's high cost (2,000,000 Sheckles for the detector and 575,000 for the shovel) requires dedicated farming. Focus on Rainbow, Red, and Yellow spots, particularly around the Pyramids and the Plains behind them. These areas yield more valuable treasures than usual. While there's no foolproof method, finding a Rainbow spot often leads to others nearby, so thoroughly check the area after each dig.
Before selling, consider smelting your finds at the Blacksmith. Smelting upgrades treasures to Polished, Shiny, or Gold variants, dramatically increasing their value.
How to Smelt Found Treasures

The Blacksmith Building in Dusthaven houses the Smelter NPC. Smelt items like Sphynx, Fighting Jett, Pharoh’s Pillar, or Submarine for maximum profit. Smelting takes 4-12 hours, but progresses even while offline.
