Partnering with 505 Games, this dark fantasy adventure plunges players into a world teeming with enigmatic races and terrifying creatures.
A recently released trailer highlights the game's dynamic hack-and-slash combat, distinctive visual aesthetic, and grim, atmospheric backdrop. Gameplay and art style echo elements of Lords of Shadow, while environmental and enemy design draw inspiration from Darksiders. Intriguingly, the trailer also features a mechanical bird, suggesting a significant role in exploration for the protagonist.
Leveraging MercurySteam's proprietary Mercury Engine, Blades of Fire aims to circumvent the optimization challenges frequently associated with Unreal Engine 5 projects.
The game's launch is slated for May 22, 2025, across current-generation consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X|S) and PC (Epic Games Store).
