Godzilla vs. Marvel: A Heroic Collision

Get ready for a colossal clash! Marvel Comics is unleashing a series of one-shot crossover specials pitting Godzilla against its iconic heroes, and the next battle is a doozy: Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1.

Following the March release of Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 and April's Godzilla vs. Hulk #1, this new installment throws Spider-Man into the fray. This retro-styled story, set after the 1984 Secret Wars, finds Peter Parker still adjusting to his new symbiote suit. He'll need every bit of its power to face the King of the Monsters.

Joe Kelly, the writer behind Marvel's upcoming Amazing Spider-Man relaunch, pens the script. Nick Bradshaw (known for his work on Wolverine and the X-Men) provides the art, with cover art contributions from Bradshaw, Lee Garbett, and Greg Land.

"The moment I heard about an '80s-set Godzilla/Spidey crossover, I practically jumped for it," Kelly shared with IGN. "This comic lets us go wild with two legendary characters, capturing the chaotic energy of my Spider-Man collecting days. Nick Bradshaw perfectly embodies the absurdity of the concept while giving Godzilla and Spidey (in his totally-normal-black-suit!) the gravitas they deserve. It's a love letter with an earth-shattering roar!"

This isn't the first superhero-Godzilla showdown; DC's Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong (with a sequel in development) featured the MonsterVerse versions. Marvel's series, however, utilizes the classic Toho Godzilla.

This announcement follows the unveiling of IDW's Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, a charity anthology benefiting wildfire relief efforts.
