GOG has launched an innovative solution for PC gamers: One-Click Mods. Recognizing that mod installation can be time-consuming, this new feature lets players browse, install, and enjoy mods with unprecedented simplicity. The platform has carefully selected premium mods and seamlessly integrated them with their corresponding games for flawless installation.
Preserving Gaming Culture Through Mods
The platform emphasized mods' critical role in video game preservation, noting how community modifications often fix bugs, restore cut content like missions and characters, and create entirely new experiences. This initiative builds on GOG's commitment to safeguarding gaming history.
We can't wait to get Skyblivion into your hands later this year! Thanks to our friends over @GOGcom for helping us make that easier and more accessible.

Current Mod Selection
The current catalog includes enhanced versions of classic titles:
- Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Complete - Adds new factions, campaigns, creatures, and multiplayer improvements
- Fallout 4 - Features Fallout: London, a standalone UK-based apocalyptic story
- Doom 3 - Includes the Phobos prequel mod with modern enhancements
- Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines - Bundled with the definitive unofficial patch restoring cut content
Later this year, the service will add Skyblivion, the ambitious fan-made remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion using Skyrim's engine. Notably, Bethesda officially endorsed the project and gifted the development team Oblivion Remastered copies, despite having released their own remaster earlier this year.
GOG's Preservation Legacy Continues
This initiative continues GOG's broader game preservation efforts. Following last year's announcement of its preservation program for titles like Resident Evil and The Witcher 2, the platform addresses growing industry concerns about digital-only titles becoming unavailable - exemplified by Ubisoft permanently removing The Crew in 2024.
