Lego Unveils New Minecraft Movie Sets Featuring Familiar and Unexpected Mobs

Ahead of the upcoming live-action Minecraft movie, Lego has announced a pair of new sets offering a glimpse into the film's action-packed scenes and characters. As reported by GamesRadar, the "Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring" and "The Ghast Balloon Village Attack" sets join the existing Minecraft Lego lineup. These new sets include minifigures of key characters like Jack Black's Steve and Jason Momoa's The Garbage Man.

The $49.99, 491-piece "Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring" set depicts a gladiator-style battle. The Garbage Man faces off against a zombie riding a giant chicken – the scale of which remains ambiguous, potentially a baby zombie on a regular-sized chicken, but significantly taller than The Garbage Man himself. The set also includes Steve, Henry, a giant zombie pigman, a treasure chest, and a small viewing stand with weapons.

The $69.99, 555-piece "Ghast Balloon Village Attack" set showcases the Nether's Ghast in a large-scale battle within a standard overworld village. This set includes a villager, two piglins, Steve, Natalie, Dawn, and an iron golem.

Both sets launch March 1st, a month before A Minecraft Movie hits theaters on April 4th. The film's September reveal faced immediate fan backlash due to the perceived contrast between live-action characters and the animated world. However, the director and producer, speaking to IGN in November, expressed confidence in their vision and preparedness for varied reactions.
