Speculation surrounding a PlayStation 5 release of Starfield intensified after fans spotted a PlayStation logo on Bethesda's official Creations website. The logo appeared on a work-in-progress ship decal creation, since removed, fueling fan theories about an upcoming PS5 release of Bethesda's PC and Xbox exclusive sci-fi title.
They have added the Playstation logo to a creation. (I think they are beta testers, the logo only appears on one creation)

This discovery has led to discussions about a potential major content update, perhaps even a new expansion, coinciding with a PS5 launch. Recent months have seen relatively little news regarding Starfield following the release of the poorly-received Shattered Space expansion. With Microsoft expected to host another summer showcase, this event could be the ideal platform for Starfield announcements.
Bethesda has hinted at "exciting things" planned for Starfield this year, addressing player concerns about a lack of communication and updates. In June 2024, Bethesda reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Starfield, confirming at least one additional story expansion beyond Shattered Space. In an interview with YouTube channel MrMattyPlays, Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard stated the goal was to release an annual story expansion "hopefully for a very long time."

Starfield, launched in September 2023, marked Bethesda's first new intellectual property in years and its first mainline single-player game since Microsoft's acquisition of ZeniMax Media in March 2021. IGN's Starfield review scored it a 7/10, stating: "Starfield has a lot of forces working against it, but eventually the allure of its expansive roleplaying quests and respectable combat make its gravitational pull difficult to resist."
In January, Microsoft's Phil Spencer declined to rule out a PS5 release for Starfield. Reports from March 2024 indicated both Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny were considered for PS5. Indiana Jones subsequently received a PS5 release, with a spring 2025 window, a few months after its PC and Xbox release. Starfield’s PS5 release remains unconfirmed, though Spencer's comments suggest it's a possibility.
Several Xbox games are available on PS5, including Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Pentiment. Microsoft already publishes Minecraft on PlayStation, and plans to release Doom: The Dark Ages and Ninja Gaiden 4 on PS5 later this year. Forza Horizon 5 is also confirmed for PS5, and reports suggest a potential Halo release on PlayStation.
