Early gameplay footage of EA's upcoming Battlefield game has leaked online following a closed playtest. As reported by TheGamer, a Twitch user, anto_merguezz, seemingly streamed footage from EA's Battlefield Labs playtest. While no clips remain on anto_merguezz's page, recordings from the stream have surfaced online, primarily circulating on Reddit.
The leaked footage seemingly confirms the "modern" setting previously teased by Vince Zampella, setting it apart from other Battlefield titles with historical or futuristic settings. The footage showcases firefights and highlights the game's destructible environments. Early fan reaction appears positive, a welcome contrast to the lukewarm reception of Battlefield 2042's launch.Last month's official unveiling revealed details about the next Battlefield, including the return of a traditional, linear single-player campaign—a feature notably absent from Battlefield 2042, much to the disappointment of many players.
EA currently anticipates launching the next Battlefield game in fiscal year 2026 (April 2025 – March 2026). With the launch approaching, we can expect more official reveals soon. Given the current leak, keeping Battlefield 6 (or its eventual title) under wraps may prove increasingly challenging for EA.
