Star Wars: Hunters, Zynga's mobile foray into the Star Wars universe, is closing its doors on October 1st, 2024, less than a year after its June 2024 launch. This announcement came as a surprise to many, given the initial buzz surrounding its unique blend of game show aesthetics and fresh Star Wars character interpretations.

A final content update, launching April 15th, will include the highly anticipated new hunter, Tuya, available for free to all players. Players can also expect a rerun of certain seasonal events as Season Three is extended. In-game currency refunds are also being offered. Tuya will be playable in multiplayer before the game shuts down.

While the reasons behind the game's closure remain unclear, speculation points to market saturation in the mobile hero shooter genre and a potential mismatch between the game's target audience and the broader Star Wars fanbase. The core Star Wars audience may not align perfectly with the demands of a fast-paced mobile multiplayer experience.

Despite the closure, players still have time to experience Star Wars: Hunters. Before it's gone, be sure to check out our tier list ranking Hunters by class!
