Star Wars: Hunters, despite not even reaching its first birthday, will celebrate its anniversary before its servers shut down. But is there any real reason to celebrate a game's demise?
When Will Star Wars: Hunters Shut Down?
The official shutdown date is October 1st, 2025, a mere nine months after launch. Players will have a few extra weeks to complete Season 5, which concludes on April 15th.
Developer and publisher Zynga will release a final content update on April 15th, introducing a new free Support Hunter, Tuya. In-app purchases will be disabled on this same date.
Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers close, and seasonal events will be rerun. Players are advised to spend any remaining Crystals as no refunds will be offered.
A Predictable End?
While unfortunate, the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters feels almost inevitable in retrospect. Initially announced in 2020, the game faced multiple delays and limited beta testing (SEA and ANZAC regions only).
A delayed launch, lack of major console support, and a generally underwhelming reception all contributed to the game's downfall.
Even the character design seems questionable. Instead of leveraging the iconic Star Wars roster, the game opted for generic original characters, a missed opportunity many feel.
If you're curious to experience one last round before the servers go dark, Star Wars: Hunters remains available for download on the Google Play Store.
