Alan Wake 2 Devs Aim to Emulate "Europe

Remedy Entertainment's ambition is to become a leading force in the gaming industry. Inspired by Naughty Dog, particularly their Uncharted series, Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley envisions Remedy as "the European equivalent" of the acclaimed studio.

Rowley, in a Behind The Voice podcast interview, detailed how this influence shaped Quantum Break and subsequently, Alan Wake 2. He explicitly stated their goal: to be the European Naughty Dog.

This aspiration is clear in Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, lauded for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative. The game's success has firmly established Remedy's position among Europe's top developers.

Remedy's aspirations extend beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's mastery of cinematic, single-player experiences, exemplified by Uncharted and the award-winning The Last of Us franchise (a cornerstone of PlayStation's legacy), serves as a clear benchmark.

Over a year post-launch, Alan Wake 2 continues to receive updates enhancing gameplay across all platforms. These improvements include significant optimizations for the PS5 Pro, introducing a new "Balanced" graphics option that combines the best aspects of the existing Performance and Quality modes.

These updates also refined graphic settings in Alan Wake 2 to ensure a smoother frame rate and clearer visuals, alongside resolving minor bugs impacting gameplay, particularly within the Lake House expansion.
