Dune Awakening Issues Reimbursements After Update Wipes Player Progress
Players are getting compensated after Dune Awakening's latest update accidentally wiped bases and equipment. Here's what's happening with the lost gear situation and current game exploits.
Update Fallout: Compensation Process Underway
Funcom has stepped up to make things right after their recent update caused major setbacks for players. The developers took to Twitter (X) on July 9 to explain their reimbursement plans while also sharing more details on their official website.
The problematic July 7 patch that revamped the Deep Desert region had some unintended consequences - suddenly turning PvE zones into PvP areas and wiping out player bases along with their hard-earned gear.

Funcom clarified these changes were meant for the next Coriolis Cycle, apologizing for the premature implementation. They've committed to restoring lost vehicles and items through in-game rewards by week's end.
"Our team is enhancing reimbursement tools while working through support tickets," developers explained, acknowledging the backlog from launch period issues. They're prioritizing previously unresolved compensation cases alongside new claims.

Players who've lost vehicles can submit detailed support tickets specifying vehicle type, tier and circumstances of loss. Funcom has dedicated teams fixing core issues causing item disappearance during crashes, disconnects and server transfers.
Despite these hurdles, the community remains supportive, reflected in the game's "Mostly Positive" Steam rating. Game8's review scored it 74/100, praising its survival systems and open-world design while noting room for improvement in combat mechanics and server stability.
