The journey of bringing Daredevil: Born Again from comic pages to TV screens involved numerous revisions, yet surprisingly, one episode remained entirely unchanged—Episode 5. Ironically, this installment happens to be Charlie Cox's personal least favorite of the entire season.
"This might surprise you, but out of all the reshoots and rewrites, that bank episode stayed exactly as we first filmed it," Cox shared during his interview with The Playlist.
"We shot it pre-strike using the original script, but personally, I wasn't thrilled with how it turned out."
Cox admitted he "resisted this episode aggressively." The storyline traps his character Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil) in a bank heist while he tries securing a loan for Nelson & Murdock's law firm alongside Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll).
"It felt outdated—like something from a 70s cop show," Cox remarked. "The technology aspects didn't track for modern times, and honestly, the robbery mechanism wasn't convincing enough."

Despite his reservations, Cox acknowledged the episode's unexpected popularity among viewers.
"I fought hard against it, yet fans keep telling me it's their favorite," Cox reflected. "It proves storytelling is subjective. Rumor has it Disney's internal metrics rank this among their most-watched Marvel shows."
Our review agreed—Episodes 5-6 delivered Marvel Studios' most grin-inducing, edge-of-your-seat storytelling in years. As we noted: "This installment masterfully showcases Matt Murdock's heroic essence even without the suit, reminding us why he remains Marvel's most compelling street-level hero."
