Peak Hits 10M Sales Milestone

Authore: NicholasUpdate:Jan 07,2026

Independent climbing sensation Peak has officially surpassed 10 million sales, as confirmed by industry analyst Rhys Elliott of Aliena Analytics and Gamescom host Geoff Keighley.

Elliott initially broke the news in his Monday newsletter, revealing the game sold 1.7 million copies just last week and was projected to hit the 10 million mark by Tuesday. Keighley later verified this milestone during Gamescom's Opening Night Live, making Peak the second indie title of 2025 to achieve this feat after R.E.P.O.'s 16.8 million sales.

Since its June debut, Peak has dominated Steam charts as a consistent top performer. Currently tracking at approximately 88,000 concurrent players according to SteamDB, it's sandwiched between Naraka: Bladepoint and perennial favorite GTA V in Steam's live rankings.

The game's momentum skyrocketed last week when a temporary price reduction from $7.99 to $4.95 coincided with the Mesa content update. This perfect storm drove Sunday's player count to 171,000 concurrent users, with Alinea reporting 1.3 million unique players engaging that day.

Developed by Aggro Crab, this cooperative climbing adventure supports four-player teams scaling treacherous peaks while managing stamina and environmental hazards. The breakout success has spawned numerous Roblox imitations, prompting the studio's social media statement opposing "microtransaction-heavy Roblox knockoffs" - even jokingly suggesting piracy as a preferable alternative.
